Rotterdam does NOT need another park!!!!! That would be a total waste of money. Come on folks, we don't have the residents or the government leaders like guilderland or loudonville or clifton park or saratoga has. We live in a two bit town with two bit leaders who don't know what to do now that GE's money is gone!

OH...and by the way, a friend of mine lives in guilderland. His home is a bit larger than mine and has about the same amount of land, and his taxes are about $1,000 less than mine here in Rotterdam. Most of his taxes are school taxes.

Anyone who even suggests a 'town park' should be ashamed! Especially when almost everyone has pools and swing sets, sandboxes and basketball hoops in their yard. And if they don't have them, I'm sure their neighbor, which is probably 12" away, would be more thaqn glad to share theirs.

A town park? Paleeeze! IMHO

not suggesting a town park
just trying to work out a solution
because a solution based on thought is much better than one on crisis

Rotterdam has parks ? are they useful ? I pay 11,000 a year in taxes, I think my children get a good education in the Shalmont schools, but we have no where for the children to go....My son plays baseball....what a dump field larned lets us use...better than nothing I guess. No where to go....I dont want to put in a pool ( more taxes ) The Parks in the other communitie cater to all activities...come on now, we need something !! Rotterdam revolves to much around Baseball....Please ! I understand ths town has issues and believe it hasnt been run very well, but we have new families we want to attract...good families, why would they come here...the high taxes ?? we need to develop a well rounded community for all to enjoy...

I understand what you are saying, but it will take more than a park to attract people to this town. Just look around....old grand union EMPTY. Capital Plaza EMPTY AND STILL STANDING. Curry Rd Plaza EMPTY AND STILL STANDING! Exit 25 NO GROWTH. Exit 25A NO GROWTH.

There is no infrastructure for new growth. And ya see what happens when we have a chance for some new growth? McLanes distribution center NO! Walmart NO! (and rightly so at that location) And now there are even issues with the Golub expansion.

And now with the slumping economy and the probability of higher taxes, I don't see where there will be too much movement in the development area. So it would be a great time to implement some infrastructure for when the economy does come back. THEN perhaps a park.

By the way....your taxes are outrageous!!!!!!

Biaggio and Bumblethru

Can we agree on the following

Based on past town history it is not in the best interest of the town and LL  that the fields be on public property

The current fields and parking are very poor condition

The current assessment process hinders the improvement of the fields and parking areas by the property owner

And due to possible developement the current owner is most likely to transfer the property to the LL for little or no $

thus we are seeking a solution thru discussion

A drive  from exit 25a to 26. Brings to light both sides of the thruway at gordon road

There are large flat fields up weast road
Owned by the Orminski's but I think these would require serious landscaping to pull off

"The Town" doesn't have to do anything....the politicians would be very very sorry to put it at their podium's rhetoric for votes.....

the parents and the National Little League LLC should be doing it.....get some big ole baseball players and their million$$$$$
contracts over here to meet Sal and maybe something could be done......

as for "The Town"--yeah, we like baseball alright but, I see more pressing issues,,,,,

comp plan
sewers for Hamburg
Rotterdam on water towers
etc etc........

I dont want to hear about the poor poor little league and the poor poor kids........Rotterdam is not poor poor poor.......

we must be smarter than the political rhetoric....

I'm not bitching about anything.....but, 'The Town' really doesn't have to do anything......

National Little League LLC----certainly has enough $$$$ and candy to go around.......the parents should picket
the Yanks and the Mets......
