Okay, this sounds like a step in the right direction and is promising for that area. I hope that other businesses will take the challenge.

Why is N.J. getting rid of all its roundabouts?

Concerning roundabouts: Of course the accident rate is down near Northway Exit 12 — many of us, going south, are using Exit 11. With a roundabout scheduled near Exit 11, I can solve that problem by only shopping to the north, using plain old roads. I just won’t go to the south.
Have any of the “experts” employed by New York, who are recommending multiple roundabouts everywhere, asked their counterparts in New Jersey why they are removing their roundabouts? I suggest they do so — to profit by that state’s experience And they should do it before they pave over all of Saratoga County.
Thank goodness Saratoga Springs’ officials had the good sense to reject roundabouts on Broadway. What a nightmare that would have been!

If you don't like round-a-bouts there are other routes to take. But sometimes it really isn't me I'm worried about, it is the other
nuts-o drivers!

Not that I've heard, yet.  If it's supposed to start in June, as you say, then I think they'd start talking about it more again around March, give people 3 months or so to hear about the fact that it's going to happen, the you'll see signs in the area for a week or 2 (at least) before they actually start working on it.

Nothing. Except what we have all read in the gazette.

Hopefully in the spring...we are having many problems at the car wash with people stealing the nozzles from the vacs, dumping garbabe all over the place, we can barely keep up with it.  The other night a UHaul truck backed right up behind the carwash and dumped all sorts of goodies...a fish tank, some boxes full of junk, an old kitchen table.  We have had the new nozzles in the bays broken, have had a foaming brush cutoff and stolen...we are so dissapointed that people choose to treat our business this way.  We do have the 24 hr surveillance but it is hard to see license plates.  The people who do leave bags of garbage in the bays are usually stupid enough to leave something in the garbage with thier name and address on it, so, we take the bags and try to leave them their garbage at their residence.  We have called the police once, and the person came and picked up the mess they left us.  The other day a glass company was using a bay as a garage and repairing someones windshield.  We almost had to call the police to make them leave.  They were taking up time in the bay away from real customers, not to mention the glass and mess that would be left for us to clean up.  Can you believe the nerve? The guy refused to leave until we waited there in the cold and snow and he realized we were not leaving. However, business has picked up a lot...and we want to thank all of the GOOD people who patronize the car wash.  It is a shame a few bad eggs will probably lead to higher prices at the car wash because of all the money we spend bringing peoples personal unwanted belongings to the dump!
Did this glass company get your permission before they did their business at your business? And did you call the company and tell them? I work for a glass company, and that should have never been done on your property for many reasons, but one is the liability alone. That was very inconsiderate and irresponsible of them.
I am also so sorry to hear about the garbage and vandalism that you are experiencing. Are other businesses being effected in the same way?

No, the glass company did not get permission.  They stated they do it all the time at other car washes.  We did not call the company, we figured they would not really care.  We told the guy that we pay thousands in liability insurance and he did not seem to care.  As far as other businesses experiencing the same thing, I cannot be sure.  The car wash is unique, the equipment is all there for the public to use, or to abuse.  It is up to each person that decides to use the carwash whether or not they are going to use the bays as their own public dumping ground, or steal some equipment.  Why someone would want a foaming brush from a car wash or a vac nozzle is beyond me.    The rink next door occasionally has garbage and furniture left behind the building, but not that often.  I noticed the Grand Union building still has spray painted grafitti on it.  We are almost scared to spend thouusands of dollars on a new car wash sign for fear that it will be vandalized as soon as we put it up.  Yes we have cameras, but usually it is kids who do the spraypainting, and how do you catch someone if you do not know their name, even if they are caught on tape.
It is very disheartening to go over there everyday only to find garbage strewn all over the place when we have three, yes three very large garbage cans on the premises.  However, make no mistake about it...we know that for every person who steals or dumps, there are probably 10 people who use the carwash on a regular basis and are happy it has been improved upon.  We will just have to try and think of ways to keep those people coming back regardless of what that one bad apple does.

I have used the car wash (respectfully) I never leave my garbage at any carwash....as for the dumping that is why we need sewers and a busy shopping district with coffee houses, ice cream stores and the like.....the more action the less opportunity there would be for those integrity challenged folks to 'do their thing'...... >

WELL........???? > Where are our sewers and smart development...........get to it boys and girls

The Town Board is busy creating a Community Committee to study salaries.     Why not attend Wednesday's meeting and express your concerns?  They'll never get back on point if you're not consistently in their face reminding them, as sad as that is.
