Just what we need...a former cop on the Town Board.  Then maybe the Police Commission would come back???

I still don't trust him to do what's needed to turn this town around if the other Dems on the board are against something.

You just might be correct-o there senders! I really didn't think the reps were that stupid foolish. Parisi may be the rotterdam republican chair, but why didn't he run? He's an Amedore clone! And perhaps Parisi shouldn't be the chair if Denny Democrat was the best he could get!  Parisi would have gotten my vote. I may now have to go with Della Villa, who I don't know, just from his party endorsements. And that my friends is not a way to vote. But they ain't showing me anything else here.

We're all going to be voting for a pig in a poke, just like the old grab bag game never know what you're going to get.

John Silva, CDW

If I understand the designations correctly, Mr. Silva received endorsements from the Conservative (C), the Democrat (D), and the
Working Families (W) parties.  Does anyone else find it puzzling how the same candidate can be endorsed by both the Conservative Party and the (liberal) Working Families Party?   One of these two minor political parties is not endorsing candidates based on ideology.

I surmise from the party endorsements that the candidates ranked from Conservative to Liberal are:

Michael Dalla Villa, CIR
John Denny III, DR
John Silva, CDW
Richard Leet, DIW

with the last two in the list being indistinguishable.

Without any understanding of their political platforms, I can't assess their political "bent".  Can someone provide some insight?

I wish I did have some insight on this as it is just as confusing to myself and others I have spoken to. This is all I, and many others know and it isn't much at all:

Della Villa - Pres.of Schalmont school board
Denny - A staunch dem/lib for years -
John Silva - ?
Richard Leet - ?

Just appointing friends for friends for friends...........etc etc.....no ideology here....we have made so many divisions in America and have lost our foundation that it has just become--like shadow stated, a pig in a poke.......

Knowledge is everywhere and available to anyone......it's the wisdom that is missing

We have all kinds of 'talk show/experts' knowledge....big freakin' deal.....

I don't understand how Silva got the conservative endorsements. Silva received one conservative endorsement and two liberal. How does that happen? They are both far from the end of the spectrum here.

And Denny is the other. The dems and reps are entirely opposite. I would like to know what kind of questions they were asked during their interview and how they were answered that achieved the party's approval.

Democrats wrong: Denny’s no stooge
PATTI CUOMO Rotterdam

It is amazing how the Democrats are calling John Denny a Republican stooge when they never even approached him to be a candidate [Aug. 4]. But the Republicans did.
Isn’t it just like a poor sport to start calling names — maybe they should look in their own closet first. How many people really vote just for their party?
Do you remember the days when no one knew what party you belonged to? Now when they call you up, they come right out and ask you, and they want to know why you are voting for that person. John Denny has been in politics a long time, and truly knows what the town of Rotterdam needs. Are the Democrats afraid?
I’m Conservative, and I will vote for John Denny if he becomes a candidate.
