we need to make sure the Republicans are also "kept in line" with the will of their constituents.  They are being touted as the saviours for our county and while I agree, if left to run amuck any party can do what the dems are doing now.

I have only one Saviour and he isn't a politician.

That said, I agree with you Rene.  Too often, those who we elect as our representatives lose sight of the reasons that they were elected by their constituents.  As someone here repeatedly states, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" (hope that I got that right)

Rene ,True so true any political party in power must be held responsible for responding to the will of the residents and I agree if left unchecked can stray from the straight and narrow.

I agree with you Shadow, but it doesn't end there, we need to make sure the Republicans are also "kept in line" with the will of their constituents.  They are being touted as the saviours for our county and while I agree, if left to run amuck any party can do what the dems are doing now.
I agree 100%. Now what facts fo we already have? We already know that the dems are an out of control dictartorship that has lost it's ability to govern the people. We know that Susan Savage heads that dictatorship. Ed Kosiur is all but non existant. His defeat for the State Assembly seat made that clear. We also know that Judy Dagostino has done absolutely nothing to  benefit Rotterdam. If anything she has tried to sabotage the towns progression.

What we don't know is if the reps can take this deflated ball and run correctly with it. We know that Ms.Lazzari and Mr. Santabarbara would be a plus to the county legislature. But Mr. Buchanan makes me uncomfortable. I swear I don't know where the guy is coming from and what party he actually represents. Rotterdam also needs Mr. Tommasone to remain the supervisor ESPECIALLY if/when Ms. Lazzari and Mr. Santabarbara get elected.

So, how do we make the changes we need, but keep the things that are going to benefit us?

I agree, Rene, but part of it is also that if the partyisn't putting up for election the type of people who we think would best suit the position, it doesn't leave much room for choice.  The party may need a change from the inside out, as was clearly demonstrated in the national elections LAST November.

We need a 'chain of leadership',,,hopefully non-tainted.....

like a picture of a winch.....a winch is only as strong as it's weakest link....and if there are multiple metals/materials used(ie: dem/reps/conserv/special interests) again there will be weakness.......

keeping our officials feet to the fire and seeing and hearing(not just looking and listening) is what prevents the need to deal with 'troopergates'(which in my very strong opinion is just smoke from the trough) in a soap opera/OJ way........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
