First published in print: Friday, January 15, 2010 The Rotterdam Raiders Midget cheerleaders were named Grand Champions at the Capital District and the Northeast Cheer and Dance competitions in October at the Times Union Center. The squad advanced to the Eastern Region cheer competition in Trenton, N.J., where they placed third out of 18 teams. The team was less than a half-point short in a bid to go to the Nationals in Orlando, Fla. "I have been coaching cheer for over 11 years and have been coaching the majority of these girls for the past seven years. I'm very proud of each and everyone," said head coach Joanne Floccuzio.
