Why?  Don't the members of the board know?

I believe the purpose of an Ethics Board is to review charges of wrong-doing by lawmakers or in this case by these elected officials.  I do know for a fact that when there was charge that involved Mertz he did try to disband the group which angered one member in particular.

The debacle with Della Villa certainly should have come up.  GP was probably too busy on the phone to act in a proper manner relative to that issue.

I believe that Michael Viscusi, Republican endorsed candidate for County Legislature and the uncle of
Republican Democrat County Legislator Angelo Santabarbara was on the Ethics Board.  Santabarbara's
company, Chazen Engineering had a contract with the Town of Rotterdam.  He was also the head of the Rotterdam IDA.

Does Viscusi still sit on the Ethics Board?  Did the new Town Board retain the services of Chazen Engineering?

To quote senders, "they all feed from the same trough"

So wasn't this a conflict of interest too? MV is Ang's uncle????? MV sat on the ethics board while Ang was head of the rotterdam ida AND his engineering company had a contract with the same town he represented?

Come on...tell me that is not a conflict of interest or unethical at best?

If the role was to make recommendations on charges brought before the board and Viscusi did so on a matter pertaining to Angelo, then I would most certainly agree.  I doubt that happened!  Now the Ethics Board is under fire?  How long before they get wiped out completely to make way for more pastry makers and Dem cronies?

Most of them?  Doubtful.  But you're the one crying foul with regard to the Ethics Board.  Tell us their function, and where they went astray.

In the eyes of the law, that's PRECISELY what it is.  Ever hear of innocent until proven guilty Senders?  It has something to do with not being treaded on.

My point being that our elected legalbeagles choose what they want to do to get what they and their lobbyist buddies want--ever watch Minority Report and it's
"precedent story line"......somehow our country got turned upside down......

IE: the government is guilty long before the 'we the people'......is it not?......progressives and their buds like it the other way around.......and they have 'legal precedent' and
lobby $$ on their side(neither party excluded here)......

as for the conversation on corporate support for NNTP....that would be the legal beagles fault for deeming a corporation as an individual---hence the supreme courts
ruling on election donations.......

DONT TREAD ON ME

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Just because the court says the NNTP CAN accept corporate donations doesn't mean they MUST accept them. If the NNTP really wanted to bring change, they should have foregone the support from corporations and RACC. But they aren't about change: they are looking out for themselves.

I almost agree,,,,the only part being you're keeping the conversation way too small about the NNTP....because really I dont care
what the name ends up being......the status quo needs to go.......
