Silly, they must pay more since they voted Republican. Also, why doesn't Pravda report the number of calls in the City?

"It will be less expensive to operate?" Stated the County Attorney. Since when do these DEMS who all "understand the importance of high taxes" give a fig about costs? That's why they are building a new County home instead of utilizing an underutilized home? That's why they are enlarging the main library despite the clear will of the sheeple?

If they release the huge number of City calls in Pravda it will undermine the template that "renaissance" is in the air.

ROTTERDAM
Town on board with dispatching
BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Rotterdam officials will sign on with Schenectady County’s consolidation of emergency dispatching services, but Glenville continues to oppose the plan.
Members of the Rotterdam Town Board approved a resolution to join the county’s plan for centralized dispatching following a lengthy public hearing Wednesday. Deputy Supervisor Robert Godlewski was the only one to oppose the move after expressing his concern over funding the consolidated service through individual municipal budgets instead of through the county.
Rotterdam joining the plan could ultimately bring Princetown and Duanesburg into the fold. Both towns have relied on Rotterdam for dispatching services since the state police in Princetown moved their dispatchers to Colonie in March.
“The Rotterdam vote was significant,” County Attorney Chris Gardner said Thursday. “Essentially, if Rotterdam is in, then it probably makes sense for Princetown and Duanesburg to be in.”
Princetown Supervisor Melanie Whitely said her Town Board hasn’t heard anything about the consolidation plan since late March, but she acknowledged that Rotterdam’s support of the plan severely limits Princetown’s options.
“That puts us in a tough position,” she said.
But Chris Koetzle, Glenville’s supervisor and an opponent of how the proposed service would be paid for, didn’t see the same significance in Rotterdam’s vote. He said Glenville will continue to oppose the plan until county officials change the way the consolidated service is fi nanced.
“We still believe it’s the wrong model,” he said. “Until they change that model, we’re still opposed to it.”
Duanesburg Supervisor Rene Merrihew could not be reached for comment Thursday. Previously, she has expressed concern over how the fi nanices were calculated and whether an advisory committee would have any real discretion over the center. ..................>>>>....................>>>>..............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01101&AppName=1

Imagine if all all the police and fire sat in a room for two hours and put out an RFP for radio freq coordination  and a interlinked phone system

the vendors would design it for free just to bid on the possible sale

could have saved a million $$$$$$$ and bought new radios

• The town of Rotterdam passed resolution to enter into agreements with Schenectady County over the creation of a unified dispatch. The universal call center would help to increase safety and help to effectively dispatch throughout the county, according to County Legislator Anthony Jansenski, D-Rotterdam. “Its one more step in the process,” he said.

Tony J is right, it's just one more step in the city/county gaining control of more of Rotterdam tax payer money.

All those positives you mention look good on paper but any time you consolidate there seems to be a lot of inefficiency and waste and many unforeseen problems that go with it. You also lose the knowledge about locations of streets and areas when people who are unfamiliar with that area and dispatch vehicles to the wrong location which can result in the lose of time and possibly life.

Centralization starts with good intentions but historically end up with negative results!!

Perhaps they can use one of rotterdam's vacant buildings for this new centralized dispatch? Perhaps?

Perhaps, this is among the changes to the Hamburg Street area that are being announced at the monthly
meeting of the Hamburg Street Merchants on Monday, June 14th @ 7 pm at the Bridge Christian Church.

Would the vacant Grand Union building be a candidate for use as the County Central Dispatch?

Perhaps that could have been the trade-off in these Central Dispatch negotiations....perhaps?

I think that the previous administration would have voted NO for the central dispatch. I'm sure there was some give and take with this bunch! Although I think 'ramblin' bob' was the only one who voted 'no' for this. And believe it or not folks.....I agree with him on this one!!

The Town Board members, with the exception of RG, were quick to vote in favor of Central Dispatch.   This begins the County consolidation effort and with that we won't need any Town level government.   The County officials will govern Rotterdam directly as opposed to "indirectly" now.
So the current admin has established the foundation for the absolution of the Town of Rotterdam.  Another feather in their cap!

Their first mistake was letting the metroplex take over rotterdam's IDA! That was mistake #1. Sync was mistake #2. BI's zone change was mistake #3. Allowing Attorney Brick's 'real estate' associate to represent the ethics committee was mistake #4. Defending EE was mistake #5. Allowing the county to decide where the Little League Fields land was mistake #6. The botched REMS vote was mistake #7. Voting for Centralized Dispatch was mistake #8. Not enforcing codes was mistake #9.

There were other mistakes that we can catagorize under miscellaneous such as..........

FDG...."He doesn't have a hair you know where"
FDG...."I wouldn't live where you live"

It wouldn't surprise me if the county lands the central dispatch right in rotterdam. Perhaps on Hamburg St....the gateway to the city!!! Hurray!!! Next will be the RPD. And if REMS is our ambulance service....they will be the next to go!!

The county leg's hit the jackpot with this merry bunch of idiots!!

The only way out of this mess is to abolish the county leg and create a Board of Supervisors!!! It would take a lot of work and a lot of dedicated people to get this done.....but it can and should be! NOW!!

This is an accurate summary of their mistakes or as they refer to it…“getting up to speed” .    Let’s keep the list updated and as the elections draw near, we can use these examples in their opponents’ campaign literature.   As for myself, I’ve been collecting the replays of the TB meetings and they are going to make great TV campaign commercials!
