Molly is Clark Collins wife.  She got sent to the senior center to work as a paid secretary for John DeGeorgio.  Others could only have volunteer secretaries.

So what does that have to do with EE and dirty laundry? Am I missing something here?

Kitchen to build?????????  Yeah the same kitchen Deb layed out for the Senior Association w Tony Fusco in 2004 that Paolino, DeGeorgio and others said they would help build. It got dropped under Paolino then Tommasone didn't do it and I doubt it will get done now.  Why now???  The Sr. Association numbers are dwindling.  Boomers aren't joining.  The people who would have used that kitchen are now either too old and disinterested to continue with it and some have died who constantly did the cooking.  (Battaglia for one)  The reason to move the kitchen upstairs for the seniors was so that they didn't continually need to do the stairs carrying hot plates and heavy equipment.

My suggestion is if you move the kitchen now, get up to code and have a congregate meal there.  Lots of hoops to go through but the aging population of this Town as well as the county could use a congregate meal here.  Of course, according to the Nutrition Consortium, the monies to congregate meals is very much reduced and now they are reducing the money again to home delivered meals.

Who pays the "nutrition" consortium? Just a question.

If the senior center's membership is dwindling....why is anyone even THINKING of spending money on a kitchen when the town's infrastructure is also 'dwindling'. Where are the priorities?

Nutrition Consortium is a non-profit with a lot of partners--some are governemtn like food stamps, Ag and Markets, Food Bank, Hunger Action Network etc.  They have a senior nutrition element .

Because ultimately the County will probably take over YOUR senior center.  They will put in the kitchen to do a congregate meal if that happens.  I agree--who needs the kitchen now--should have happened already back when Deb did the work.  It is possible Paolino agreed just to appease the Sr. Association.  Deb lobbied for it as well because the downstairs kitchen was an accident waiting to happen.  DeGeorgio also promised but never acted on it.  He also told the cook in the Brass Rail that he would make her full-time and that didn't happen either--in fact cut her down hours.  Some stupid moves over there because seniors aren't a priority.

"You may have noticed that Mollie is not at the window.  She has been sent to the Town Clerk's Office
