Quoted from Kevin March
As far as the letter from Mr./Ms. Lucas, I must say that it just about defeats itself.  I mean really, it starts out stating that the fact that people get re-elected to office is a major issue.  It sounds as though they would be for term limits, which may be a good thing (hey, if people who are in office since the '80's can sit in their office and run for re-election and state they're for term limits, then fine).  They then go on to defeat the entire idea that incumbency is not a good idea by saying yeah, I think the people need to get out of Albany.  Instead of new political blood though, I really think we need to find someone who is already serving (which would be someone he would vote against as an incumbent if he doesn't like incumbents) and instead of getting them out of office, let's give him a promotion into another office.  We need new blood...let's send this person that's been around in the political circles for a while.  I'm sorry, but if you're against incumbents, it just goes with that idea that you would not vote for someone that's already in an office for a higher office.  At least that's how I'd think of it.

What baffles me about all this talk of term limits is that we already have term limits...it's called the electorate...and they have the
power to limit the terms of any elected representative at the ballot boxes. It's too bad that they are too complacent, ignorant,
brainwashed or otherwise detached to wisely exercise that power.

Ang is a stereotypical politician pushing for Ra-Ra popular legislation in the pocket of special interests. He is exactly the opposite of what we need right now. We need people who are going to stand up for the taxpayers not smile at ribbon cuttings!

I am going to retire in a few years, I doubt I will stay here and keep paying these taxes!

GB - Do everyone here a favor. Follow these directions in order:

1. Go to the medicine cabinet.
2. Take the bottle of pills labeled "lithium" and down two.
3. Turn off your computer and leave it off until the drugs kick in.
4. Schedule an appointment with your psychiatrist and ask him/her whether you need to up the dose.

Lastly, say what you will about myself and other posters. But at least we're making sense. And speaking complete, cohesive sentences...

OK, Hack. Of course I am crazy. Maybe there is a gulag you can put me into or a mental asylum, since I am not on board with your "revolution." Did you get your approach from Lenin or Stalin, or was it Goebels? Gee. Either way, I imagine you look smashing in that uniform you plan on dressing up in with the pantalooms and polished boots. I think you should wear some sort of diagional belt across the front with the little cartridge holders too if you have the physique for it. Just make sure you can raise your left arm when you "heil" and it isn't too tight.

Advice for you: Get your orders in writing from your Democrat and Conliberaltive party bosses. That way, when the time comes, and people wake up to the kind of things you were doing, and the lies you were telling, you will have a more reasonable line of defense, lest you be hung (politically of course.)

the next generation will be fickle voters......just look at the practice they are getting via Survivor/American Idol and all the other vote 'em out reality shows.....I just
hope they have the edumacation to know the difference between 'feel good' legislation and true foundational changing legislation......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Gee.....isn't this how the liberal socialists characterize anyone who doesn't think or believe as they do? What were the names the left called the tea partiers?

REAL AMERICANS don't go along just to get along! REAL AMERICANS will die fighting to keep our freedoms!! REAL AMERICANS will fight to keep their country free.....free from socialist governments. Take a class in American History folks!

I wouldn't vote for AS if he chooses to run against GA. I don't believe that AS has the passion for the seat. It appears to be just political positioning by the dems. And (if) once in the seat, I believe it would be for his own personal agenda. And the dems wouldn't care, just so long as they got the seat back. They could care less what AS does!

So NO vote from me on this one!

C'mon how can anyone vote for AS? The guy switches parties in an obvious attempt to position himself to run for higher office. How can any voter think this guy is going to fight for me? His only agenda is his own political gain. Is this the type of person we want. I for one say NO!

GA might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but he has been a relative lock as a conservative vote.  He can hold that seat in pretty high dem district with relative ease.  Ask yourself these questions what will these opponents be able to do that GA hasnt been able to do as a member of the super minority?  Repubs need to focus on challenging dem seats and winning back this god forsaken state.  Looks like these other candidates want this more for themselves than the people......

Fresh faces welcome in state political races

Re March 6 article, “Santabarbara looking at run for Assembly seat held by Amedore”: It’s good to see that fresh new faces are emerging for this race. Although [Assemblyman] George Amedore was a change of pace for awhile, it’s good to keep changing the faces in Albany.
Career politicians are the major problem for our state and country. The public service in being a politician has been lost. It’s more about furthering their careers, businesses and lining their own pockets these days.
Like many others, this is not the change I voted for! So I welcome the choices this year and the end of incumbents, and credit those brave enough to challenge the failing status quo of politicians who produce no results and think they are somehow entitled to office.

Mom's a fundraiser
Marv Cermak

"Friends of Angelo Santabarbara" have come up with a brand new political fundraising gimmick. They are holding a Mother's Day brunch at the Sons of Italy lodge.

Santabarbara, a member of the Schenectady County Legislature, started out as a Republican. He surprised many when he enrolled as a Democrat last New Year's Eve.

At that instant, I speculated he was going to run against incumbent GOP Assemblyman George Amedore. Since then, that guess has come true.

Over time, I've seen politicians use all sorts of fundraising promotions, but the mom angle is an all-time first for me.

Was Obama the change you voted for Vivian? Of course ANG is not a career politician not interested in lining his pockets-lol.

I knew they wanted him to run (because the DEMS have no one else) but thought ANG was smarter than this.

Don't underestimate Ang. Remember there are not only political motives, but personal motives here too. The dems will use Ang for their personal and political vehicle and Ang will use the dems for his.
