He clearly can't get out of, and as far away as he can, from Schenectady. I wouldn't be surprised if he, and others, don't have 'firecracker powder' (indirectly) on their hands.
I can't wait for Raucci to SING!

Schenectady Superintendent Eric Ely is one of the top candidates to run the school district in Billings, Mont., according to a story published in today's Billings Gazette.

And we all just learned this morning that Ely is a candidate in an Arlington, Mass., school district as well. Hes one of three finalists there.

Ely also is one of three finalists in Erie, Pa.

Ely has said hes attempting to further his career and do what's best for his family. And yes, hes interviewed at districts before. But such a full court press at the same time a trial is going on about how he allegedly allowed a possible sociopath to lead district maintenance workers? Hmm.

We actually only hope that with all of Ely's traveling -- and his business superintendent's distraction of having to testify at trial yesterday -- that school officials can actually craft a sane budget, which is being presented to the school board tonight.

Boy, he can't WAIT to get out of here, eh?

Ely's coming...Ely's coming....You better hide your wallet.
What he did to Schenectady he can do to your schools? What a loss to the educational community over there.

SCHENECTADY
Mass. district to interview El
y
BY MICHAEL GOOT Gazette Reporter

Superintendent Eric Ely will be interviewed by Arlington, Mass., school officials today as a candidate for the superintendent job there.
Ely is one of three finalists for the job. He will tour the facilities during the day and will have his interview with the Arlington School Committee at 8 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, and the board will meet in executive session after. The committee wants to make a decision before the April 10 election, according to The Arlington Advocate newspaper.
Ely is also still in the running for superintendent positions in Erie, Pa., and Billings, Mont. Neither local school board has made a decision on its next school leader.
Members of the Arlington School Committee also plan to tour the districts of the finalists for the job. ...............>>>>.....................>>>>..........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01501&AppName=1

Not too early to start looking for Ely’s replacement

It’s become increasingly clear that, despite having an additional two years on his contract, Schenectady school Superintendent Eric Ely is anxious to extricate himself from the mess he’s created and get out of town before the getting gets worse.
The first clue was when he put his house on the market in the dead of winter; now he’s apparently made the short list on superintendent searches in Montana, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. And while the controversies that have dogged him over the past year may make it tougher for him to land that new job, it seems inevitable — given the scarcity of employable school administrators all over the country — that he’ll be finding something somewhere before very long.
It’s also more than remotely possible — advisable, really — that even if his job search doesn’t pan out right away, the school board will want to replace him. He was a liability for the school district even before the Raucci trial began. And the mere fact that he wants out so badly makes his continued presence on the job all the more troubling: How effective a leader can he be with one and a half feet out the door? ............>>>>................>>>>.............http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01103&AppName=1

Ely now 1 of 2 to vie for Mass. job

ARLINGTON — Schenectady Schools Superintendent Eric Ely is in the final two for the superintendent’s position in Arlington, Mass., after other candidates withdrew from consideration.
Kathleen Bodie, who had been serving as Arlington’s interim superintendent, ended her bid after she was named a finalist at a school in Swampscott, Maine.
Ely is up against Kelly Clenchy, superintendent of Regional School Unit 26 in Maine. Another finalist, Gloucester, Mass., Public School Superintendent Christopher Farmer, took a position with Trinton Regional School District in Byfield, Mass.
Ely is also still in the running for jobs in Erie, Pa. and Billings, Mont.

Don't they do back ground checks in these other states? He shouldn't have even made it to the interview stage.

I can't believe that these other states are even considering this guy. The school system this guy is superintendent of has one of the lowest graduating stats. Not to mention it is considered one of the most violent and corrupt.

Perhaps this guys is just looking for another raucci to do his bidding, huh?

SCHENECTADY -- School Superintendent Eric Ely gave Steven Raucci a "heads up" he was the focus of a criminal probe, according to evidence presented when a State Police detective took the stand in the retired school employee and CSEA union leader's trial.

Peter Minahan testified Friday that such a tip would only have hampered the investigation by a task force of law enforcement agencies into Raucci's alleged violent behavior.

"It was a difficult investigation to begin with, and that would have complicated it even more. He would be looking over his shoulder," Minahan said, noting the vandalism and bombings under scrutiny were quick hits done in the dark in mostly rural areas.

Boy, I hope Montana, PA, Mass. School districts don't find out that he's not quite the best confidant.  I wonder what else he's "leaked"
