Does anyone know if she is on the list of those to be called on to testify at the Raucci trial?

Is she a con or a dem?  I will admit she appears to have an image problem.

ND is enrolled Conservative...she switched from Republican during the last election cycle. To be fair, she does seem to have
concern for residents' interests...still early...but I guess time will tell.

Well she hasn't been too impressive yet regardless of what party she belongs to.  All this party switching--doesn't anyone ohave the courage of their convctions.  Look at Suhrada-his politics are pretty much of the wall for me BUT at least I know who I am dealing with when I speak to him. HV and others are chamelons--their colors change by what they are standing next to.  Nope I will take JS any day of the week.

boomer, changing your enrollment from Republican to Conservative is hardly considered "chamelon" to me. I could see your point when one switches from Repub to Dem but not in this case. Shouldn't someone change their affiliation if they believe their former "party" has gone away from the principles they feel are important?

Nicki was a good Republican for many years in my opinion and she is an intelligent woman who cares about the residents. I think our residents should give her time to prove herself to be a quality town board member.

But taking the liberal Democrat/Socialist party endorsement certainly is odd. Who would want that unless they though Obama was the way to fly. I personally, recognize that when you have the Demorat line, you are a Demorat. Look at Holly Vellano. She joined them too, and even votes for every hare-brained liberal scheme under the sun in lockstep. Where is her independent mind. Not to be found. It must be in the kook-aid that they drink when they get that 'D' after their name. Of course now the conliberaltives have become a wing of the demorats too. People know it. They aren't all as dumb as you think.

Patterson, Massa, Obama, Spitzer, DiLeva, Rangel, Pelosi, Emmanuel, Clinton, gosh, what do they all have in common?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought HV had a (C) after her name?  I know, same thing in Schenectady, but ...

What concerns me and other residents is her connection with the schenectady school system. aka raucci! And now with this information coming out from 2001 is even more proof of why rotterdam residence have concerns. And now will she say it is being resurfaced again because it is a 'smear campaign' by the reps? Will the reps be the new TALIBAN?

This party switching is becoming obsurd! Cross endorsing is clearly not about ideology as much as it is about personal/political power and greed! The liberal socialist dem party has become nothing short of a 'party of political whores' for the ones who have jumped ship and became too lazy and soft to stay the course and make a change during the slump times. Sad!

Really? And what proof do you have that she seems to have concern for residents interests? When she blasted the residents in her intimidating, soprano, raucci speech at the 2/10/10 town meeting? (see below) Or was it when she voted YES in favor of rotterdam's own, Ivonella over the quality of life issue for her beloved residents? As long as it isn't in her back yard, huh? As long as it's not effecting her son's quality of life in rotterdam, huh? Give me a break. You can take all the time you need to see her colors....for me and many others.....We saw RED!

I don't need to see hear her speech again...I was there when it was delivered. At least at this point, we have no reason to believe
that she is connected to any of the allegations against Raucci. If she is not, I can't say I blame her for her commentary.

On BI...I agree with the comments made in supporting the resolution for the zone change. They are right about the need for business
development...and the fact that every time anyone wants to build anything, the NIMBYs come out swinging. BI has agreed to
reasonable concessions when it's time to build, as per residents' concerns. I am a bit concerned about the uncertainty of exactly
what type of business will eventually be erected...it was on that basis GP voted no. But whatever it turns out to be, it will still have to
go through the approval process, where those concerns and concessions can be addressed and agreed upon.

ND also expressed support for GP's amendment to the sewer corporation resolution, out of concern for the lack of the Certificate of
Incorporation, which the applicant did not yet actually attain, and the uncertainty of reaching an agreement on a fair and reasonable
fee within a specified time frame after connecting to the sewer...she didn't want to put other connected residents at risk if
something went wrong.

She also addressed what she discovered to be a contract violation with the videographer, Keith Byrnes...that's why he wasn't at the
last meeting. She found out that he was making several extra copies of the DVDs, charging the town $15 apiece for them, and ST
was allowing that...while his contract provides payment of $56 per meeting which includes one copy for the town.

I'm not going to plead her case, but I think it's shortsighted to immediately assume that she won't be effective and represent the
interests of residents, based on the few items you've mentioned, IMO...but as I said, time will tell. In the meantime we have no
choice but to play the hand we've been dealt if we are to get on with the business of the town. If we lose, then the electorate will just
have to deal another hand.

I'll have to agree on development - a necessary evil
comp plan does not prevent spot zoning

if we can get professional business - all the better

My experience with Bobby I is on the positive side
30 years - no a problem with his drainage or road work

someone refresh my old memory:

repubs had a majority in county legs. in late 90's early 2000's?

during that time ND was there for a few years, majority/minority leader? if i remember

what did she accomplish besides pushing metroplex to help with "little italy"

which i might add has a very lovely arch welcoming everyone to little italy before they hit the sawmill.......
