SCHENECTADY -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say exposed himself Thursday to two young girls.

     
The incident happened inside the Broadway Discount store at 1833 Broadway around 4 p.m.

The man not only exposed himself to a 3 year old and 5 year old but also tried to engage the young girls in a sex act, police said.

SCHENECTADY -- Police said Saturday they arrested a 44-year-old city man who allegedly exposed himself Thursday to two young girls and attempted to get the children to perform sex acts.

     
Matthew F. Swain faces two charges of first-degree attempted criminal sexual act, a felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and a count of public lewdness, a misdemeanor. Swain is being held in the police lockup pending arraignment.
