I just drove through the 4 corners and there are fire trucks at 4 corners pizza.  The smoke filled the intersection.

I hear the fire is big.. involving everything close.. First class products, the pizzeria, and Anderson Blacktop.
If only the fire was at the Sunrise Plaza instead,

-{TU}Christen Gowen-ROTTERDAM-Firefighters are on the scene of a blaze at the 4 Corners Pizza shop on Guilderland Avenue. The pizzeria is located at 2807 Guilderland Ave near the intersection of Curry Rd.

Pizza shop roof caved in nothing left, the firemen are fighting to save first class products but there is damage to roof along with smoke and water damage. Too bad it wasn't the eye sore Sunrise Plaza it would have been an improvement.

That you guys can make a joke about this and sunrise plaza is quite sickening. Many people depend on that place to earn a living. That no one has expressed any sort of compassion to those people tells a lot about the people that post on this forum...

It is always sad when a disaster destroys a business, people lose jobs, it hurts the economy and even the surrounding businesses lose out. Once a business reopens then only half the people come back because they remember when it burned down because that is big news but the media doesn't report when it opens back up. Bad news travels fast, good news not at all. Condolences to all the businesses there today, and we really like the pizza there too along with a lot of people.

It wasn't a joke, we all believe the Sunrise Plaza would been a better victim.
Sure it is a tragedy, but no one died or was injured.
We all go through tough times, I have lost a job on several occasions..its called LIFE
These are legitimate businesses and should have obtained sufficient insurance for loss.
If they didn't, then whose fault is that? Not ours

Tbird I think you ought to read GB's post again and think about what you are saying. Having insurance money to rebuild doesn't help those that lost their jobs today. It doesn't help the economy. And it doesn't mean business will be the same when they reopen. Lighten up? No... And the proper response should be that no place should have burned down today, not trying to find a better victim. Every time there is a fire, our fire fighters have to risk life and limb to put it out. Why should you want them to take that risk?

Once closed down, the business can take years to regain steam. The rest of the public has the Yankees amd MTV on TV. They aren't as plugged into facts and aren't in the loop. But they will sure know about a towering inferno, while the grand reopening will be known by a small fraction of people, and word will slowly get out. Having been in business for over 21 years, I know how this stuff goes. It aint' pretty.

No, I think YOU ought to take a look at what is MOST important here.. NO ONE WAS INJURED OR DIED
Stop worrying about what happened and be thankful about what didn't.

No one had compassion for me when I lost my job several times over the years. I didn't look for it and I didn't need it.
I was thankful at what I still had. I picked myself up and went on.
Bad things happen in life, to individuals and businesses. Being unprepared is no excuse.
Call it non-compassion, but in the end , its the truth

Perhaps the bright side to this story eventually will be a combinded development of this parcel with the adjacent vacant plaza next door that CVS purchased?

I have to agree with 55 and worshipper..........no one was hurt....not even a fire fighter.....THANK GOD! Ya need to put things in perspective here.
'Things' can be replaced....'people can not.

As far as the people who will be unemployed....well there is unemployment AND some small businesses have an insurance rider that protect their employees against unfortunate circumstances such as fire. These riders provide income for the displaced employees for 3,6,12 months. Whatever they chose. Perhaps that will be the case here.

Rotterdam is a small community. If they choose to rebuild before/if CVS buys them up, the customers will return. It was a good business with a good product.....people will remember and come back. IMHO
