What's false?  It starts with a question. It goes on to state facts (thinking of certain appliance store on Crane Street, and others)

Marcella's expanding to  Broadway was a great win for Schenectady .. otherwise they would have moved
to another town and then you'd be complaining that Metroplex and the County did nothing to keep the
business here.

And, like the fact that I stated, left a gaping hole in another section of town.

Relocating one business from one end of the county to another is called 'economic growth' to people like Susan Savage.

I am a doer not a cheerleader .. but I give credit where credit is due and the Democratic led
County Legislature and the County Economic Development team and Metroplex have done
a lot of great things for Schenectady County

btw - I see by your post that you supposedly belong to the Knights of Columbus .. you are
really a poor witness for Catholic Christian values .. judging by your posts in here

Now we get a priestly lecture!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Maybe that is what you need.  A good lecture on Christian virtues.

I don't claim to be anyone's savior.

Hole where...on Crane St?  Do you have any idea what was going on over there that he even thought about moving?  Do you know how many break-ins and how much vandalism he had to put up with that Sch'dy would do nothing about?  How long was he there until he exhausted everything and finally said enough is enough and looked to move.  Gapping hole???? I think not.

It's still a hole. Instead of using $ and resources to address the problem, they hand selected one business on the street to receive a new building and a new lease on life when they threatened to move out of the county.

So what now - leave it an empty hole for the next administration? Or will they step up and address the issue?

"they hand selected..."  Who "they" and show my how it was "hand selected"....come on, use facts instead of smoke and mirrors. Why so angry that a long time business was retained and not lost to another town or county.  If others want to do the same let them speak up.  Just don't condemn those that do and get help.  I have the feeling if Marcellas was not given help and moved, you would then be taking the other side how "they" never do anything to keep a business and we are losing everything.

What about the businesses still left on Crane street? Combos, Mt. Pleasant Bakery - both established well over 20 years ago. If they left would Schenectady care? Probably not because they're too "small" for Metroplex to care about.

But, it's the small shops which make up that street. One by one they have been lost (Frank Gallo comes to mind), and now there is a gaping hole where Marcella's was. It doesn't help Crane Street, it won't help to "revitalize" that area and I don't see Metroplex bringing anything else to Crane Street other than vacancies.

Metroplex should not have to 'handout' our tax dollars to support, develop or relocate any private businesses. The Metroplex should have never existed in the first place. It became nothing more than government extortion. Doling out hard earned tax dollars on businesses and developers of 'choice'.

If the powers to be did their job these last 10 years, without the metroplex, the crane st/mt. pleasant area would not be the sh!thole it is today. But they 'chose' to ignore it while they gave their 'chosen few lap dogs' the deals of the century!!!!!!! It is Stratton and crew and Savage and crew, including the metroplex, who is solely responsible for the decay and high taxes in schenectady county.

They pulled marcellas out of the sh!thole, but left the sh!thole as it is!! PATHETIC! And they actually have the stupidity to brag about it as a success.

If I were marcellas, I would have said 'screw you' to schenectady and moved out!!! And yes people would have complained that the local government didn't do enough to keep businesses here. BUT only because they didn't clean up the sh!t and stop spending and lower the taxes so businesses would stay.
