I guess I should have stated it this way ~ The issue is not whether or not REMS is bad for the community, the issue
fact that another ambulance company could achieve the same thing and provide the town with income.

Signing a contract may not be in the best interest for all concerned right now. rems is in fact being audited and rightfully so. There is now a trust issue with the rotterdam taxpayers. rems has stated time and time again that they would not be able to sustain itself without a taxing district, without the 'gas key' and that they would be broke withing months. there is a discrepancy on how much als $$$ they 'really' collected...if in fact they did....and where it really went. And then the tax evasion issue!  Then of course there is the question about the cozy deal made by the tommasone administration.

rems is just tooooo questionable. it clearly is not your typical 'clean transaction'. It appears to look more like a typical 'rotterdam transaction'. imho

The best offer without the ALS monies is useless, especially since that non-revenue was part of last year's budget, . . . remember????

no one is dying in the streets....dont let fear remove the ability to make rational decisions.....when politicos promote the "what would happen if grandma or sissy get hurt?" we need to have them,
they are thinking about the future 'what ifs'.....but they dont think about the what if the economy is slowing down and there are bubbles in the market...nah...they say"keep going with the COLA and
offer more increases in the government entitlement programs of the government workforce, because we can get votes now.....

IDIOTS IDIOTS IDIOTS.....

the 21st century if let them eat cake is the frosting all over the leaders faces......

SHOW ME THE CAFR....BUDGET....KILL THE COLA.........

For the record, the Public Works Department or the Highway Department would be responsible for maintaining the circle and NOT the Parks and Recreation Commission.   The commission has co-sponsored and worked at clean up days in the past .. and will be sponsoring and working at similar clean up or special project days in the future  ------ but the circle is NOT a town park so don't expect us to be cleaning that up.

Of course, you claim to be such a wonderful citizen --so volunteer your own time and clean it up yourself.

Gee, I only asked a question, and to be given such an attitude.  Wow.  Thanks for the reply, though.  I guess by looking at other posts on here, I should be happy to get the response I did get.

It appears that all decisions will be made AFTER november. They ALL know that rems is risky, a money pit and questionable at best. And everyone seems to be treading lightly on this subject. Which is absurd to say the least.

So it appears that rems will get another free ride for another year until someone in rotterdam has the balls to make the tough decisions. In the mean time.....the rotterdam taxpayers are getting screwed.....again!
