Primary victories for R’dam Dems
DelGallo loses primary bids for Supervisor, R’dam fringe Dems lose bids

#Rotterdam — Smiles got bigger and cheers got louder at the Rotterdam Democratic Party headquarters as primary election results rolled in on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Primary results breakdown

#The Schenectady County primaries solidified many lines for Democrats both in and outside of their party. Some Democrats in Rotterdam decided to split from the party, but the primary election didn’t add any ballot lines for their general election quests. Except for one instance, with Rotterdam Democrat Kevin Mercoglan for RepublicanTown Justice, the town Democrats were able to secure all their bids in the Democrat, Conservative, Working Families and Independence lines.

#Rotterdam Democratic Committee Chair and County Legislator Anthony Jasenski stood atop a chair and gave a victory speech after unofficial polling results displayed the party’s victories.

#“I can tell you today that it is not about being a Democrat. It is not about being a Conservative or a Republican … because people want our different parties to work together,” Jasenski said during impromptu speech. “What you saw on the board tonight is evidence of that. They believe that this group, this team, can bring the things the need to governing the Town of Rotterdam.”

#Frank DelGallo had Democrat support during his previous bid for town supervisor, which is when he stepped into politics for the first time. When he sought reelection and town Democratic backing, including registering as a Democrat, the party voted to support Harry Buffardi. After left in limbo with no main party line support, he decided to form the independent party Rotterdam First, which will not be the only ballot line he holds.......................>>>>..................>>>>.........................http://www.spotlightnews.com/news/2011/sep/15/primary-victories-rdam-dems/

I never expected adulation over a divided party...

Have people realized YET that when these two parties that are filled with bureaucrats say "working together", it means working together to screw the taxpayer raw into the poor house, in order to continue to fund their lavish salaries and pensions?

Let's see if the voters in November are any smarter than the DEM primary voters. One party never works.

I think it's funny how the Democrats say Schenectady is in a Renaissance...Do you know, that when Hitler rose to power, he actually called the rise of the Third Reich a counter renaissance, which he defined as the end of individualism and replaced it with centrally planned collectivism - or FASCISM.

Democrat/Metroplex central planning is a counter renaissance or the death of individualism and free market capitalism.  Our planners will choose the winners and losers and direct our collective resources through disproportionate tax breaks and taxpayer backed loans.

So we can assume that you admit that the dems are not doing a good job as they boast and that we can expect the reps to do no better.........yes? That the 'system' has failed?

It would appear that if that is your assumption, and it reads like it is, then we are all in agreement that the present way of doing business in schenectady county needs to be changed because it has obviously failed.

Gee, I thought that people were going to be taking their lives into their own hands if the dem cheerleader in chief didn't get the taxpayer funding for REMS.  Now, he goes into Rotterdam and takes his life in his hands, actually standing on a chair, not knowing if those who are not taxpayer funded will have enough funding and an ambulance that is in a good enough state to come and pick him up if, God forbid, something happen to the chair under him or he missteps?

Wow, that's one brave chair (and I'm not sure if I'm talking about AJ or the actual chair in this case)

One Party never works -- that is why we have a slate that transcends party lines and is endorsed by 4 political parties.  WORKING TOGETHER WORKS >> AND PRODUCES RESULTS.

For the record, the Democratic Party is NOT divided -- we have a full and active committee -- only 3 of the "insurgents" retained their committee seats and 2 of them never attend committee meetings and none of them actually attend party functions or campaign for endorsed party candidates.

For the record, our hard-working chairman was reelected  and the entire executive committee was elected by unanimous vote.   Our chairman is a tireless and well-organized leader.  Our WHOLE committee is involved is involved in the planning and decision-making of the town committee.

I'll just keep pulling my string over here....because everyone keeps pulling their strings over there....let's see what we come up with

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

They certainly have a few Joseph Goebbels. The one party thing is breaking.
