Yes! Tonko was committed to passing Health Care Reform for All Americans, and thankfully he stuck
to his guns on that issue.  That's enough to get my vote, and the votes of many Americans.

My then soon to be wife interned under Tonko when he was in the NYS legislature... I wouldn't vote for that low life slug under any circumstances...
He made passes at any intern who was between EIGHTEEN and Twenty five who looked good in a skirt....scumbag...

Yes, authoritarians get enjoyment watching the power of the state force their will upon those that resist it.  They even get a thrill out of watching those that make the laws exempt themselves from it.  It's a bit sadistic, but this country is filled with those types.

I find that hard to believe.  I didn't think he was attracted to the opposite sex.

Believe what you want... it was over 25 years ago.. I have no idea who he is attracted to now, nor do I care since my wife isn't a target.

I am not going to get into the ACA -- and you don't have a clue what my position is on it -- so don't try to pretend that you do.

Tonko doesn't get my vote or a lot of votes from a lot of Democrats because he doesn't bother to listen to anyone who disagrees with him.  I couldn't give a damn if he agreed with me on every issue.  The fact that he disrespects people who disagree with him or that he thinks disagree with him (I witnessed that, too), tells me that he is NOT someone that I want representing me.

I can respect a man or a woman who runs for public office who is sincere and honestly takes the time to listen to ALL of his or her constituents.  Frankly very few do nowadays. They don't have to agree with me on every issue -- most of the candidates that I do vote for and do respect hold a variety of opinions different from my own.  We have had some excellent representatives at the federal and state level in the past Sam Stratton and Mike McNulty and Clark Wemple  (I could mention some other names of politicians that I personally know and respect - but they are or were from other states).  Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2016 to have the opportunity to send someone like those 3 (and it doesn't have to be a Democrat) to Washington to represent us.
