I not concerned about what motivates Bharara so long as he is doing the job that needs to be done to reduce government corruption.

He is one of only 4 U.S. Attorneys in New York State.  The Lt. Governor's husband is the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York and that is the office that will have to investigate the "Buffalo Billion" scheme -- which involves the Governor and which some suggest could bring the Governor down if it were ever fully investigated.

Probe Of Moreland Commission shows "insufficient evidence"

Probe Of Moreland Commission shows

Posted Monday, January 11th 2016 @ 1pm  by 810 & 103.1 WGY

A federal prosecutor’s investigation has found insufficient evidence of any federal crime in Gov. Cuomo's premature closing of New York's anti-corruption Moreland Commission.

Cuomo appointed the commission consisting mostly of prosecutors in 2013 to investigate public corruption by state officials for two years, but closed it in 2014 following agreement from state legislators to enact some ethics measures.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who took over the commission's files and recently convicted two top Albany legislators using some of that material, also criticized the early shutdown.

He says Monday that after "a thorough investigation" into possible interference with its operation, his office has concluded there's "insufficient evidence to prove a federal crime" unless there's any additional proof that may develop.
