Think about this.  Who is it that is complaining about the height of their school taxes right now?  Mohonasen residents.

Now, where is EVERYTHING that is actually happening in town, as far as spreading the tax base happening right at this moment in town?  Again, Mohonasen.

These people are seeing their taxes go through the roof right now, and I agree that it's a tough pill to swallow, but think about this, that's the same prescription that the people of Schalmont have been taking for years...and I won't tell you how it's been applied, but Senders probably could.

It's going to take some time, but we will see, if we give the current town board majority the time, the turnaround to even out things in town and bring business to Western Rotterdam, specifically Schalmont School District.

Schalmont also suffers from being much more spread out than Mohonasen, which if I can compare it this way.  It's probably 2 to 1 as far as the rural to suburban leaning towards Schalmont being MUCH more rural, and we're paying for it.

We do need to make sure things are sprouting up in the very near future, especially around the Thruway exits.  We have the 1 exit in Mohonasen and the 2 in Schalmont that could do SO MUCH to help "spread the wealth."

I am not concerned about my taxes going up---THEY ALWAYS WILL,,,,will they go down sometimes? sure, relative like pennies......folks we need to get together get the town in ship-shape....Mr. Stratton is not paying attention to this end of HIS city and we are reaping from their clean-up, NYS poor attention to upstate(unless it has to do with troopers, track, lotto, or judge salaries),,,NONE OF THEM LIVE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD......I do....I have lived in Rotterdam all my life....time is moving forward, stagnation is death,,,,hind sight is always 20-20, things should have been done, and some things were done that never should have been and some of us are embarassed because of them,,,,,,

Time to move on, move up, raise the bar---WE LIVE HERE AND LETS SHOW IT.....things will happen ,I am sure,,,,,I dont care which party does it---I am not affiliated with either---but I do vote........"who, if his brother asked him for a loaf of bread would give him a stone".......

The gentlemen who own the grand union,,,,thank you for purchasing it and keeping it "in the family(town)"...please no dollar store....keep the synthesis ideas fresh in your head it IS ambiance and patina as you know.

I must say that the town in moving along.....bigK there is work going on in the Junction-that is Schalmont, not to mention the I88 area with ideas and plans coming hot and heavy.....As for the school,,,,well, Schalmont covers alot of square miles as opposed to Mohonasen.....the only thing that the Mohon district needs to worry about is blight of the area, which in turn tears at the seams of the society.....if it is not kept up and held to standard, then here comes the integrity challenged to move in, those folks seem to think if it looks like they dont care then I am welcome there.....aaahhh--suburbia

I have to say after thinking about the sides presented for the grant$, the gentlemen that bought Grand Union-kudos to you.....however, I did not see a plan from your own minds......it seemed that you are waiting for $$ to fall into your lap and then you will make something....I believe you could too, but, as the little study by synthesis showed, it is a much larger picture and frankly 1.4mil$ ain't gonna cut it on Hamburg Street......we need more county, state, business and residential involvment......

........I know first thing we say "my taxes are so high"-----we need to FIND THE $$ TRAIL.......

I don't think so.  And I don't think they ever will be.  Were you there when John Mertz read what he said?  The night's a blur.

That did confuse me. But, from what I was understanding is there is conversation that goes on behind the 'bench' there and we are not privy to it....that's fine(but you know each political party keeps things 'under wraps' so to speak until election time), until the media or someone who decides they want to hear what they want to hear mixes it up.....(or a lawyer uses lawyer talk)

I'm not so sure Mr. Godlewski is well informed about what is going on....he has access to info too....did he really just blindly receive that packet??? He HAD to have known what was going on.....

THEY ALL EAT AT THE SAME TROUGH.......

BTW...I'm not clear on who that gentleman was who was giving the info about the grant---was he state, county or our own team??? You know like Odessey of the Mind kind of thing.......I have to say for a minute there I thought he was the one tied to the whipping post and/or nailed to a cross......everyone there was looking for a 'lamb/scapegoat'.........

And if you want to record the entire thing, you might as well make sure if you're on a VCR that you use an SLP tape (one of the 6 hours ones) or a DVR, just record an entire 6 hours also.
