DM failed to expand on her 'shovel ready' remark. Sure 'shovel ready' sounds great. But she fails to go one step further. 'Shovel ready' is for areas that have already been zoned for a specifically proposed development.

In this case involving the Becker Rd area....it would be 'shovel ready' for exactly 'what'? She really didn't make too much sense there. It also appeared that she was really sticking her neck out there for BI. Unless she has some inside information, she doesn't have a clue what is going to be developed there. It was clearly just a 'character reference', which that also appeared questionable since BI is behind on his taxes. IMHO

She was clearly mixing apples and oranges here.

DM's statements were so vague...it is obvious that she didn't know anything about the proposal.  The Dems/Cons had plans to pass it and she was just fulfilling her cheerleading responsibilities.    It's interesting how she said that BI "always sticks to his word" and apparently she doesn't have a problem with the fact that he doesn't pay his taxes (not only on this parcel but many others in the town)...there was no mention of that.

Well keeping it agricultural doesn't make sense either.  Once they put the houses in that was the end of that.

Why is BI not paying his taxes?  What kind of a responsible businessman doesn't pay his taxes?

and speaking of shovel ready, DM's testimony was knee deep in something!

DM seems to be stumbling over herself. She really made no sense in my opinion. Here's the way it should go.....if a developer thinks a piece of land is worth buying for setting up their business, they should present their project to the town....if it is acceptable after all of the quality tests are done and everyone is in agreement...THEN let the process begin.

For example....there are still acres of farmland in Rotterdam that are zone agricultural. Are they suppose to change their zoning to business....JUST IN CASE.....someone wants to buy it to develop? OF COURSE NOT! And to add insult to injury, BI doesn't pay his taxes because he thinks they are too high....he seeks a zoning change on the property that is tax delinquent....and he gets a pass with the help of DM the cheerleader! It is all nonsense!

This is just yet another example of spot zoning, which is why rotterdam is a sh!thole!

Working together works, especially for open government. Or as Thomas Friedman says "the only thing worse than a one-party dicatatorship is a one party democracy." So we better just outlaw voting soon.

But I may have well offended you MC1, you probably voted for what we have now, if I went with the odds.
