Less poorly run criminal banks, less poorly run auto manufactures, less of a redistribution of wealth from the middle and lower economic classes to the wealthy.  Probably bankers and politicians swinging from the gallows if they didn't jump from the rooftops already.  The U.S. economy would have reset to the actual value of the markets, probably quite rapidly.  Everybody would have felt the pain, top to bottom.

Transferring trillions of dollars from the  future taxpayer to corporate America(and international banks) just transferred the greed of today to the children of tomorrow.  But generation ME doesn't look that far ahead.

Cmon JOEY, let's have a dialog.  Indulge me.  I answered your question directly.  Now tell me, what would america look like if the taxpayer didn't bailout failing companies within the auto and financial industries?  Let me in on some of that "truth".

Most on minimum wage pay little or no income tax, but just like the super wealthy.

correct.....the illusion of wealth must exist for the middle to think they are upright and paying their fair share. the superwealthy do not affect us.

I was just thinking about how some on this board are 'jealous' of my veterans exemption, even though the voters elected officials
who repeatedly fund that exemption.
Lets see... I get a 'veterans exemption" of $21,000 like all wartime veterans in my county, then I get an additional $14,000
exemption as a "Combat Veteran".  On top of that I get the same STAR award as every homeowner, but I also get an
"Enhanced STAR" exemption for being a Senior Citizen.

I guess our community (unlike a few on this board) appreciate their seniors and their veterans!

appreciation is just that....but an exception to these particular groups is much poor hiring practices based on age/race/sex....

a veteran IS NOT more important than anyone else.....TO BE A SOLDIER IS A CHOICE. Soldiers don't even really know WHY they go to war
other than what they are told to believe and the fact that was just, exists to make $$$$$$ for corporations/politicians etc.....

Just think, those disabled Americans that could not join and fight in illegal wars of aggression like Iraq, are not eligible for their veterans welfare. So much for equality.  For generation ME, it's all about getting theirs, and let everybody else pay.

For us that choose not to travel the world, meet interesting people, and kill them...We will continue to pay for those that chose such a great service to humanity.

Who's helped by raising minimum wage?  State and federal government that collect income tax.  How about eliminating income tax.  It's the same affect as raising minimum wage.

EXACTLY!!!
this is the ONLY reason why they are raising minimum wage!!!
anyone with 1/2 a brain could figure that one out!!!

that is also why the drive is on for 'waitstaff' to get a 'working wage'....because getting tipped in cash is still worth more than being on the
books is you are doing it right.....

the government is sniffing around for those table scraps....I tip very well because I know they are working for that, you pretty much
have to be outright rude to me to get less than 20%.....I know my tip is worth more than the sh!t I pay to the government so that
the government can regurgitate it to the masses in the form of welfare/heap etc etc.....

The same effect as raising the minimum wage???
Lets see...
If a minimum wage employee who pays little or no income tax had his income tax eliminated... he would gain
"little or nothing"... but people like Cicero would gain a great deal.
Again, Cissy wants a tax cut at the expense of minimum wage employees.

I'll take this as a concession that the NYS and Federal Government withholds 20% of the earnings for minimum wage worker.
